PYP workshop for “Parents”

I think the "Journey of Learning" sounds like a terrific way not for students and teachers alone but also for parents. Accordingly, parents need to see how their children are being inquirers at school. For us, a parent workshop will help to keep all lines of communication between school and home open.
Many parents at H.H.H.S are supportive of the PYP curriculum framework; a large number of our parents are frequently aware of what is happening at school especially through newsletters, attending PYP presentations and performance task. To increase parent involvement, we gave a PYP workshop for grade 4 parents who were willing to be more actively involved in promoting and supporting the PYP. We have many more parents who advocate the PYP at our school in an informal way to their friends and neighbours.

The workshop was an amazing experience for the parents and for us at the same time. The parents were our students for more than 3 hours engaged with activities related to PYP, inquiry and assessment. They will support our program as our IB Parent Ambassadors. Here are some of the parents’ reflections at the end of the workshop.

“Thank you for your time. It was a great pleasure to spend 3 hours informing us about this program.”

"أتمنى ان يكون هناك المزيد من ورش عمل مماثلة في المستقبل لكي يكون هناك تواصل مستمر بين الأهل و المدرسة."

"الرجاء تكرار مثل هذه البرامج لمساعدة الأهل و التلاميذ."
