Recycle for a better environment

Its first implemented project is “Recycling of batteries for a Better environment”, in Lebanon, Jordan and Tunisia, through a fund by MEPI

The project aims at:

- Raising awareness among upper, primary, and intermediate school students from more than 65 schools all over Lebanon, and their families, on the danger and health risks associated with hazardous disposal of household batteries.

- Engaging students from the 65 participating schools in sorting and collecting batteries.

Beeatoona organized a competition for the 65 participating schools, for children to translate their acquired knowledge on the hazards of battery recycling into concrete awareness projects.

   Our eigth graders have participated in Beeatoona Project “Recycling Batteries” and won the second rank. During the final demonstration which was held at UNESCO on Thursday March 12, 2009, every member was awarded a certificate of appreciation.
