ضمن محور "نتشارك الكوكب" حيث كانت الوحدة المياه، بدأ تلاميذ الصّف الثّالث الأساسي عمليّة البحث بزيارة ميدانيّة الى النّهر والبحر، فظهر على وجوههم الفضول والحماس للاستكشاف والمعرفة، وبدأوا بطرح مجموعة من التساؤلات عن سبب وجودهم في هذا المكان وعن علاقة النّهر بالبحر؟
عاد التلاميذ الى صفوفهم، وفي داخلهم رغبة كبيرة لاستكمال عملية البحث وإيجاد الايجابات المناسبة لتساؤلاتهم وما سوف يتعلّمونه في هذه الوحدة البحثية.

Extraction de l’ADN - Middle School

Dans le cadre de l’étude de la cellule, les élèves de 4ème (A et B) ont exploité la cellule, l’unité la plus petite des êtres vivants en regardant une vidéo puis en observant, au laboratoire, des cellules qu’ils ont eux mêmes tirées des oignons.
Ensuite, la séance d’extraction d’ADN était un vrai évènement pour les élèves. A ce moment là, la curiosité et l’enthousiasme envahissaient les yeux de ces petits scientifiques qui ont travaillé, lors de la séance, à la manière des chercheurs en suivant les étapes indiquées et enfin voici l’ADN, oui cette molécule qui détermine le code génétique de chacun!

Role Playing Activity in ESL Classes - Middle School

Role playing is a teaching strategy which allows students to take free-risk positions in hypothetical situations. In other words, in role playing, the student represents and experiences a character known in everyday life. As a teaching strategy, role playing teaches empathy and understanding of different perspectives, concerns, values, and positions held by other people.
Based on the above strategy, 6eme (A&B) students, who are taking the theme of food this month, are requested to role-play in order to create fun in the classroom and grasp the required concept easily. >>>MORE

Scientific method - Middle School

Based on the unit "Scientific Method'', two 6th graders 'Hana Hajj Shhade and Lea Bou Salman' took the initiative of demonstrating a scientific experiment about chemical reactions following the scientific method steps.
This was welcomed by their classmates who considered this demonstration a helpful way to launch the academic school year.

US University Fair in Beirut, Lebanon!

It’s often said: “A face to face meeting is the best”. To this end, the Guidance Department at HHHS provided its high school students with an opportunity to attend the Annual US University and College Fair at Movenpick Hotel to meet with international admission officers from more than 30 top US universities and educational institutions. Our students learnt more about the American higher education application process, I-20 issues, university costs, scholarship opportunities, housing, and more. They’ve spoken to representatives about admission tests and test preparation including TOEFL, SAT, GRE, and GMAT.

Discipline-Awareness Week - High School

In order to agree on common discipline grounds and to intensify information dissemination of student-discipline policies at school, Mr Mazen Kobrosli, the High School Supervisor, delivered power point presentations to high school students at the meeting room during the first school week. The presentation was a compilation of important policies and regulations on student discipline as well as offenses most commonly committed by students. The presentation featured the most recent updates on modified rules and procedures and contained reminders from the Student Handbook, penalties on offenses, and detention measures.

Homologation

حضرة الأهالي الكرام، يسعدنا إعلامكم عن انجاز تربوي مميز حققته ثانوية حسام الدين الحريري هذا العام، ألا وهو امتياز تصنيفها على مستوى مرحلتي التعليم الإبتدائية وما قبل الإبتدائية كمدرسة مماثلة للمدارس الفرنسية المعترف بها من قبل وزارة التربية الفرنسية خارج الأراضي الفرنسية وهو ما يسمى إمتياز Homologation. لتنضم ثانويتنا إلى شبكة المدارس المماثلة لها في لبنان وعددهم 38 ولتكون أول مدرسة في مدينة صيدا حاصلة على هذا الإمتياز.

Nous sommes heureux de vous apprendre un exploit pédagogique réalisé cette année par le Lycée Houssam Eddine Hariri : Nous avons l’honneur d’avoir obtenu, de la part du ministère de l’éducation en France, l’homologation aux niveaux de l’école maternelle et de l’école élémentaire et de faire ainsi partie d’un réseau international d’écoles homologués, et qui compte 38 écoles au Liban. Nous vous annonçons donc que nous sommes la première école de Saïda à obtenir cette distinction.
