Inquiry Leading Grade Three Students to a Responsible Action
Houssam Hariri High School offers its
learners the opportunity to engage in purposeful and beneficial action
in order to make a difference in the world.
During
the unit “Changes are Universal”, grade three students understood the
concept of change. The result of their learning process
was thinking of an action, acting it, and reflecting on this action.
They decided to change to lives of the students who stay alone during
recess time. Third graders planned to collect money and buy toys for
these students so that they can enjoy their recess time more. Thus,
they did a garage sale; selling stories, coloring books, and food. The
students’ skills, attitudes, and the attributes of the learner’s profile
facilitated this action.
