Grade three learners were engaged in inquiring
about how culture connects generations. Throughout their inquiry, they
read a variety of stories that deepened their understanding of the
meaning and characteristics of cultures in different countries around
the world. This kind of readings also enhanced the learners’ profile; it
developed their will to become open minded.
Exploring the concept of culture from different perspectives raised the
learners’ curiosity and awareness to inquire more into their own
culture, traditions, and beliefs. Independently, they interviewed their
grandparents and asked them about their traditional lifestyle as well as
their precious values. As a result, they took meaningful actions and
decided to appreciate their Lebanese culture and respect the viewpoint
of the old generation.
