Go! Design Your Creative Quilts
“Go! Run your imagination wild and prepare the materials to devise
amazingly creative quilts,” students were told ten days ago. In an
attempt to break the ice and perform an outstanding activity relevant to
the first Literature lesson, Everyday Use, Grade 10 English teachers
have decided upon carrying out a competition between the two English
sections. Students were supposed to get old fabrics, mostly their own
old clothes that they no longer need but still mean a lot to them, and
design their own quilts, which reflect their personalities and attitudes
in life. Students experienced great pleasure while cutting the chosen
fabrics into pieces of their own choice, designing the scraps in an
agreeable way, stitching the fabrics using needles & threads to create
handmade quilts on a white cloth, & finally gazing at their designs with
awe & enjoyment. They were so proud that they yelled of elation and
snapped lots & lots of photos that display their self content and
ecstasy.
