Houssam Hariri High School
Guidance Department helps students reach success in their academic
program, post-secondary planning and personal life. There are many
factors that impact a student’s academic performance and personal
behavior. First students are provided with opportunities to attend
career fairs to explore what the demands are on in the marketplace and
to get a perspective on where they fit in the job postings. Second,
students are expected to go on tours in different universities where
they get the chance to meet with professors, department advisors and
undergraduate students.
Besides, meeting with the
school counselor is a crucial step where high school students explore
their academic and personal strengths and weaknesses, extracurricular
activities, school average and rank, in addition to their SAT/TOEFL
scores. Together they narrow down their choices to meet their interests
and other factors. Last but not least, the Guidance Department provides
access to an array of university orientation. After the AUB orientation,
Grade 11 and Grade 12 students attended the orientations conducted by
Miss Siham Halabi from the Lebanese American University and Dr. Arkadan
and Mrs. Rashida Zaatari from the Hariri Canadian University. Students
are constantly encouraged to utilize all the guidance services in order
to make the transition to college life fruitful and rewarding.
