Shimmering under the blazing sun of Lebanon
were snow mountains with an endless whiteness that enhances the
peacefulness within the chest of the beholder. This was the welcoming
scene when two buses full of over the top excitement reached Faraya
Mountains.
On Friday, March 4, a trip to Faraya was arranged for Grade 9 students
after so many weeks of academic stress. Hence, the expectations were so
high, and the anticipation of an amazing time with friends and teachers
was prevalent. Eventually, the buses hit the road with the swarming
sound of music, sending dancing melodies to the ears of students who
started swaying to the beats forgetting for a while about their worries.
Then time to dance on the snow finally came. Once arriving to our
destination, the monitors immediately geared the students up. As they
got ready, they headed towards the snow with clumsy but full of
excitement steps. Listening to the monitors’ instructions, the students
started taking baby steps on the glistening snow; soon they managed to
start skiing with less fear from falling but with more willingness to
venture.
The time to leave the great white peaks came to an end and we had to
start heading home. However, students came down with lots of memories
they will cherish for many years to come.
