During the
first unit tackling “fashion”, grade eight students who are paving their
way in learning English as a second foreign language chose pictures
taken from different magazines for people who are dressed in different
outfits. In groups, students used a word list provided by the teacher to
describe the pictures they had, using as many adjectives as possible.
This activity allowed students to work cooperatively and write well
organized paragraphs about their photos; thus integrating writing,
vocabulary and grammar together.
